Van roof fan and A/C installs for Delta
ProVanWorks installs roof vent fans, rooftop A/C and battery-powered A/C in vans from Ladner, Tsawwassen and North Delta at our shop in Langley. We fit them to camper vans, work vans and grooming vans from other builders, and most Delta vans are at the shop for 1 to 2 days.
How far is the ProVanWorks shop from Delta?
The shop is a short drive east of Delta. North Delta is closest, by Highway 10 or the South Fraser Perimeter Road, and drivers from Ladner and Tsawwassen use the same roads after crossing the farmland. Most Delta van owners drop the van off for the install and pick it up once the fan or A/C has been tested.
Why do Delta vans need a roof fan or A/C?
Delta has very little shade where vans park. The farmland around Ladner is open in every direction, and the industrial lots at Tilbury and Annacis Island are mostly pavement. A trades van parked there for a full shift in July takes the sun on its metal roof all day, and the closed cargo area gets much hotter than the air outside. A roof fan vents that heat. A mobile groomer working Delta's farm stops, where a muddy dog means a long bath and a long dry, needs A/C that runs from the batteries with the engine off.
Winter brings the opposite problem. Delta is low and wet, and the wind off Boundary Bay and the Strait of Georgia is damp as well as cold. A van carrying wet gear, wet dogs or a couple of people fills with moist air that condenses on the cold roof. A roof vent fan pushes that air out before it soaks into the insulation and behind the panels.
Can a Delta camper van stay cool in the Tsawwassen ferry lineup?
Yes, if the van has battery-powered A/C or a roof fan. Camper vans from Delta often head to Vancouver Island and the Gulf Islands from the Tsawwassen terminal, and a summer sailing can mean a long wait in the lineup with the sun on the roof. Battery-powered A/C runs from the van's battery bank with the engine off, for as long as the bank can supply it. A roof fan with a window cracked open uses much less power and still moves the hot air out. Read how to choose between rooftop and battery-powered A/C for the difference between the two types of A/C.
How much does a fan or A/C install cost for a Delta van?
ProVanWorks quotes each install by email, because the price depends on the unit, the roof and the wiring the van needs. Email info@provanworks.com with the year, make and model, the roof height, photos of the roof and ceiling, what you want installed and what batteries the van has.
Frequently asked questions
Do you install A/C in grooming vans from other builders?
Yes. ProVanWorks installs fans and A/C in grooming vans, camper conversions and work vans from any builder. A new ProVanWorks grooming van for Delta already comes with two cargo-area fans, with the front fan running the air conditioning, and the battery bank charges at Level 2 EV chargers.
Can my Delta work van get a floor liner on the same trip?
Yes. The Langley shop sprays floor liners for work vans and bed liners for Delta trucks, and designs and installs van wraps. Ask for everything in one quote.
