# Questions about ProVanWorks vans

These are the questions groomers and business owners ask ProVanWorks most often about our mobile grooming vans, business vans, bed liners and wraps. If yours isn't here, email info@provanworks.com.

## Frequently asked questions about grooming vans

### What is included in a ProVanWorks grooming van?

A ProVanWorks grooming van includes an insulated cargo area, in-floor and in-wall heat from a small diesel, gas or electric heater under the seat, heat exchangers, a thermostat, hot water at the tub, a water reservoir and auxiliary battery bank in a rear utility area, a grey water tank, two fans with air conditioning on the front fan, lights about every 30 cm, cabinets, a waterproof floor and a railing at the cargo door. Solar panels, side covers (awnings), a generator, high-amp inverters and chargers, and opening windows are options. See the [mobile grooming van page](/mobile-grooming-vans/).

### How does a ProVanWorks grooming van stay warm in winter?

A ProVanWorks grooming van stays warm with insulation and heat that comes through the floor and walls. A small heater under the seat warms fluid that runs through pipes in the floor and walls, heat exchangers blow warm air into the work area, and a thermostat holds the temperature you set. The [cold-weather design](/mobile-grooming-vans/cold-weather-design/) page explains it in detail.

### Does the hot water work in very cold weather?

Yes. ProVanWorks grooming vans deliver hot water at the tub in very low winter temperatures, and the water reservoir sits inside the insulated, heated van in the rear utility area.

### Can the grooming van charge at an EV charger?

Yes. The auxiliary battery bank in a ProVanWorks grooming van charges from Level 2 EV chargers through a J1772 connector, the same public chargers electric cars use. It doesn't use DC fast chargers. It can also charge from a 120 V or RV outlet at home, and solar panels and a generator are available as add-ons.

### Does a ProVanWorks grooming van have air conditioning?

Yes. A ProVanWorks grooming van has two fans in the cargo area, and the front fan also runs the air conditioning. The same thermostat controls heating and cooling.

### Can the van be electric?

Yes. ProVanWorks builds on diesel, gas and electric vans. An electric van uses an electric heater, and the battery bank is sized for heating as well as grooming.

### How much does a ProVanWorks grooming van cost?

ProVanWorks quotes every grooming van individually because each one is built to order. The price depends on the base van, the heater, tank sizes, the battery bank and add-ons. Email info@provanworks.com for a quote, and read our [grooming van cost guide](/guides/mobile-grooming-van-cost-canada/) for what moves the price.

### Does ProVanWorks build grooming trailers?

Yes. ProVanWorks builds custom grooming trailers and work trailers with the same features available as in its vans, including in-floor and in-wall heat, hot water, the water reservoir and grey water tank, A/C and EV charging. See [mobile grooming trailers](/mobile-grooming-trailers/).

### How long does a build take?

A ProVanWorks build usually takes about 1 to 10 weeks, depending on materials, the season and the build. We sometimes have ready-built vans for sale and new or used base vans in stock, which can shorten the wait.

### Can I bring my own van?

Yes. ProVanWorks builds on new or used vans and trailers that customers already own, as well as on Mercedes-Benz Sprinter, Ford Transit and Ram ProMaster vans we supply.

### Does ProVanWorks offer financing?

Yes. ProVanWorks offers financing through partner lenders. Builds are paid in stages, and the schedule is set out in your quote.
